The country was still buzzing from the visit of the most important person in the world, president Barack Obama. Suddenly, someone as powerful visited Tanzania this weekend.
While most of her travel plans weren't initial revealed, Oprah Winfrey visited Serengeti National Park on July 13, 2013 and left the same day. This self made, hard working, billionaire had a private tour of the Serengeti National Park and met with the Tourism officials in the country.
TANAPA (Tanzanian National Parks) is in charge of promoting Tourism of National Parks in Tanzania. Their impeccable work of promoting Tanzanian tourism and Tanzania in general, has generated a lot of interest in Tanzania abroad.
While shooting Going Bongo film, we were fortunate enough to use their beautiful park in Saadani Tanga. Below is film's promo where some of the footage was used:
Whether Oprah also plans to bring showbiz type projects to Tanzania, still remains unclear. But if her company does put its financial muscles towards such projects, then and only then, will everyone get a car :)
